Below we have detailed our commonly asked questions for your peace of mind. If a question is not answered here, please feel free to contact one of our friendly and professional Perth podiatrists in Malaga.

 

DO I NEED A REFERRAL?

No, it’s not necessary! If however, your GP, Physio etc has referred you, please bring their letter or referral form. If you are coming regarding an insurance claim please bring your claim number and referral paperwork.


CAN I GET X-RAYS?

Yes, we can refer you under Medicare for medical imaging such as x-rays and ultrasound to help diagnose your problem.


WHAT IS A PODIATRIST?

Podiatrists are medically trained health practitioners that are specialised in the study, diagnosis and treatment of problems in the foot, ankle, and related structures of the leg.


HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Initial Consultation (45 mins)             $90

Standard Consultation ( 30 mins)      $76

Short Consultation (20 mins)              $52

EPC (Medicare referral) Consultation   $67 – $70 (Medicare reimburses $55.10 of this fee)

If you need long-term treatment or orthotic therapy, we will provide you with the information to take home and decide the best priced option for you. Most Private Health Funds will reimburse part or all of the cost your consultations. Call your Health Fund to find out if you are covered, our Initial Consult code is F004. Or, some Health Funds will allow a quote through HICAPS by swiping your private health card at our clinic if you wish to know beforehand how much they will cover.


HOW LONG IS A CONSULT?

We allow 45 -50 mins for your first consultation.

If you have a simple problem that won’t take very long, we will charge you less than an initial consult.


DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING WITH ME?

It can be very helpful if you bring the shoes you most frequently wear, such as work shoes, gym shoes etc. Please also bring any previous medical imaging of your feet or legs, such as x-rays, ultrasounds, CT, MRI. If you have previously had inserts or orthotics, please bring these also… whether they were helpful or not!
