Ankle Sprains

Spraining your ankle can include bruising the ankle joint or over-stretching the ligaments around your ankle. Often sprains swell up and result in walking difficulties for short periods of time. Majority of athletes pick up physical activity too quickly after a sprain which can often cause bigger problems further down the road. Consistent pain and swelling are side effects when the sprain has not been treated correctly. Seeking the correct health professional can prevent the sprain from reoccurring so frequently.

Shin Pain and Shin Splints

Shin splints are small fractures along the shin bone where pressure is the greatest while running or doing physical activity. Earlier stages of shin splints are easier to treat and have a higher chance of healing faster, so seeking professional advice early is wise.

Shin splints are essentially small tears of muscle at the shin bone. Damage can involve inflammation and increase in pressure within the shin muscles.

General shin pain can be caused from new exercise or an increased amount of exercise in short periods of time. This doesn’t allow your muscles to recover and rest between workouts. Shin pain and shin splints can be complex so getting the professional help early on is highly recommended.
